Energy storage systems using fuel cell modules in reverse mode Power to power systems - Performance


Scope

This part of IEC 62282 defines the evaluation methods of typical performances for electric energy storage systems using hydrogen. This is applicable to the systems which use electrochemical reaction devices for both power charge and discharge.

 

This international standard is to be used for data exchanges in commercial transactions between the system suppliers and customers. Users of this international standard may selectively execute test items suitable for their purposes from those described in this international standard.

Draft document adopted in Germany as DIN EN 62282-8-201:2018. UK adopted BS EN 62282-8-201:2020.

 

Activity to initiate 2nd edition initiated in 2021 to address:

a) Introduce methods for performance tests on systems connected to hydrogen infrastructure

b) Introduce methods for minimum/maximum power input

c) Introduce a method for measuring charging/discharging time

d) Consider distinguishing hot/cold quiescent stage
