Scope

This document specifies the performance test methods of the power to methane systems using solid oxide cells. This standard covers power-to-methane systems that produce methane from water and carbon dioxide using a solid oxide cell (SOC). This document specifies the performance test methods for the system which contain SOC stack and methanation reactor etc. This document covers both of two types of process,

1) Steam and CO2 are introduced into SOC (co-electrolysis process), and the product gas is supplied to methanation reactor; 2) Steam is introduced into SOC to generate H2, which is supplied into methanation reactor with CO2.
