Fuel Cell Power System for Unmanned Aircraft Systems –Performance test method


Scope

The document covers performance test methods of fuel cell power system intended to be used for unmanned aerial vehicles

• The scope of the document is limited to electrically powered unmanned aerial vehicles with a unloaded weight not exceeding 116kg and a maximum taking-off weight not exceeding 150kg

• The document applies to compressed gaseous hydrogen-fueled fuel cell power systems

• The document does not cover fuel storage systems using liquid hydrogen

• The document does not apply to reformer-equipped fuel cell power systems

• The document covers fuel cell power systems whose fuel source container is attached to either the unmanned aerial vehicles or the fuel cell power system. A fuel container of the detachable type is permitted

• The document applies to fuel cell power systems with a rated output voltage not exceeding 220 V DC for outdoor use

• Fuel cell power systems intended for operation in potentially explosive atmospheres are excluded from the scope of this document.
